Hey there, we’re Claire and Matthew Troemner. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
We met on a college ski trip to Mount Bohemia in 2016.
Taken with each other and the pristine beauty of the Keweenaw, we would soon call the area our forever home in 2020.
Though she grew up in the inner-city of Chicago, Claire has always surrounded herself with and tended to plants.
This symbiotic ritual started in early childhood on a sunny kitchen windowsill. Ever since, she’s been finding ways to spend more time with and learning about plants.
Claire also learned to cook elaborate Sicilian meals with local ingredients from her mother.
They’d return home from the Division Street Farmer’s Market with hands full of fresh lilies and beautiful, local produce.
Matthew is passionate about understanding how things work.
He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering and does research and computation for our engineering firm North Fracture.
In his free time he watches explanatory videos and reads instruction manuals. On the farm, you can find him building, fixing, and troubleshooting.
He loves farm-fresh foods and is quite the discerning sandwich critic.
His favorite sandwich currently features harissa, tomatoes, pepperoni, and Swiss on farm fresh sourdough.
